What about the Future?

Everyone has their own personal lifestyle. Maybe some have same but I guess not exactly the same. As for me, I have a past lifestyle and a present one. Hmmmmm…Do you think it will still be the same in the future?
My past lifestyle was kind of a hard one. Of course I was living with my parents that time. I don’t really have that privacy, I only have it when I’m taking a bath (I guess), when I’m praying, and I guess when I’m with my friends. With my lifestyle before, I didn’t know that I was that techie person. I just knew that I love collecting gadgets; it was kind of my addiction. If there’s a new stuff in the techie world, I can’t help but let my dad buy it for me. What else can I say about my lifestyle huh? Well I don’t eat vegetables, only the ones I know such as eggplant, tomato, string beans, lettuce, cucumber, pumpkin, kangkong, and potato, (I guess that would be all). In addition to that, I did love dancing before, I still do now. It’s just that before it was my way of life. Singing has been a part of my life since I was a little girl. I so love music. I can say that really music is the language of mankind. Moreover, a part of my lifestyle before was that I was a study addict. I love to read or should I say…to really study a lot that’s why before I always had honors. I’m really frustrated if I won’t be on top or even if won’t win in a competition. I was a consistent champion in the oratorical and declamation contest, I think that became my way of life too. In short, it was my way of life obeying what my parents expects and wants me to be.
Now with my present one, I guess I’m becoming independent once in a while. I don’t really have this good study habits anymore unlike before. I experienced overnight galore in a friend’s house which I can’t before. Well living here in Katipunan, tricycle is my everyday lifestyle. Hanging out with friends is another one. Taking the cab going to quite far places from here is another too. And of course, riding the jeep going to UP is the most fun thing to do. In addition to that, going to parties and/or engaging events once in a while and meeting new people is the really exciting part of my present lifestyle. Moreover, the real thing about my life now is that I still do sing but the thing here is now I sing for God. When I knew God…when I knew Jesus Christ in my heart, I was astonished with my life. I discovered that I still have a lot of things that I can do. I’m reading His Scripture, fishing men for Him, making disciples, encouraging people with His Word, reaching out to those who are lost, and learning how to put it in my life and to share with others. In short, my way of life now is obeying what God wants me to do because now I let Him drive my life.
What about my future? I don’t really want to plan what should I be having in the future. Well I guess the future should surprise me! How I love surprises! Hence, I have this “picturing myself” mode when I’m not doing anything or if I’m watching a TV show and/or a movie. Well I do picture myself having a son and a daughter, twins. I also do picture myself being rich and successful but I share my richness with the needy ones. I can also see myself having my own built school for those who didn’t know what is studying all about. Settling down near the shore and/or in the field, living at my own dream house (American style) is really the fantastic one that I can picture. I really don’t know why having a partner in life (husband) didn’t get in my mind. Yes I had past relationships but still I didn’t see myself having a husband. But when I became a Born Again Christian, I knew that it wasn’t wrong dreaming for someone perfect (not really perfect) but the best that God will give. It’s just that I should continue guarding my heart, in Proverbs 4:23 “Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.” Isn’t that great, guarding your heart while Jesus Christ is in it? Wow! How great is His love for us huh? So I guess I have one and only plan to do to prepare myself in the future…and that is to WAIT. WAIT for God’s best CAREER, best MAN, best LOVE STORY, best LIFE…in short, the BEST PLAN that God in stores for me in the future that would really sweep me off my feet.

Remembering Good TImes and Awake

Last Saturday, June 13, Eva, Melai, Kate, Tere, Jed, Jonathan, and I planned a surprise party for our friend Hazel. Instead of our kikay bonding scheduled that day, we decided to postpone it for Hazel's surprise party and besides we have two guys with us.
We did our surprise party at Kate's crib in San Mateo. While Kate's preparing at their house, my friends and I met in McDonalds. After awhile, altogether we went to Kate's crib. We took the cab. It was quite a long ride because it was traffic.
As we arrived at their house, we watched a movie entitled "Serendipity." I didn't like it that much but it was just fine for a wholesome love story that is worth waiting. After then we ate and sang a happy birthday song for Hazel. We told our wishes for her. Because she's turning 20, we prepared 20 questions just for her. After answering our questions, she asked us questions back which is really fun. We also did tell our first impressions with each other. Wow! Secrets were revealed. It was really exciting.
Since we will sleep at Kate's house, we decided to watch another movie entitled "Awake." Awake is a 2007 suspense thriller written and directed by Joby Harold. It stars Hayden Christensen (Clay Beresford), Jessica Alba (Sam Lockwood), Lena Olin (Lilith Beresford), and Terrence Howard (Dr. Jack Harper). The story focuses on a man who suffers "anesthetic awareness" (an occurrence where during surgery where not enough anesthetic medication for the patient's body weight), and finds himself awake and aware, but paralyzed, during heart surgery. His mother must wrestle with her own demons as a drama unfolds around them, while trying to unfold the story hidden behind her son's young wife. On the eve of his heart surgery, Clay marries Sam and during the surgery, he experiences an "anesthetic awareness" that leaves his conscious but paralyzed. Clay witnesses the dialogs in the room and discovers dark secrets about his surgery. It was really cruel of Sam doing that to Clay because Clay really loved her so much. The line that we won't forget in the movie was that before Clay went to the surgery room he said something to Sam "Do you think my new heart will love you as much as my old one?" We were really touched with that line because it was a proof that Clay will not love Sam anymore with his new heart and with what he knew when he was "awake."
I miss them badly. I miss our song "Pera, Pera...Pera, Pera lang yan!" Funny huh? Well this is just one of my memory with them to be treasured for a lifetime..more memories to come.
